Driver GPS privacy
HaulCommand collects phone location only after the driver explicitly starts tracking for an active assigned load.
What is collected
Latitude, longitude, capture time, accuracy and, when the phone provides them, speed and direction.
Who can see it
Authorized members of the driver’s carrier workspace and customers holding an active tracking link for that specific load.
Driver control
The driver chooses the load, starts tracking, can stop at any time, and must grant the phone’s location permission.
Automatic protection
The server rejects tracking when a load closes, is reassigned or the secure driver link expires. Old points beyond 90 days are pruned when tracking resumes.
Browser limits
A phone browser may pause GPS when the app is closed or the screen is locked. The interface clearly marks stale updates instead of presenting them as live.
Offline storage
During an active trip, unsent GPS points may remain only on that phone for up to 72 hours and are removed after synchronization or when no longer valid. The driver can clear the saved trip packet from the offline screen.
